Regenerative Agriculture: Outcomes

Regen

Outcomes

Through our transition to regenerative agriculture, much is still unknown and we are learning. However, we anticipate realising the following opportunitiues;

  • Well aggregated soils with increased infiltration rates and more water holding capacity that require less cultivation to create seedbeds.
  • A rich and diverse soil biology with a full and balanced soil food web that feeds plants to maximise photosynthesis and plant health.
  • A continuous reduction in the need for purchased inputs.
  • Crop yields and uniformity maintained at current levels.
  • Farming operations and farms that are more resilient to climate extremes.
  • Mitigation of risk for our farmers and our retail customers with improved likelihood of supply and farming profits being maintained.
  • Converting initial transition progress in cycling carbon through our soils eventually into also sequestering carbon in our soils.

We are working with international thought leaders to develop a clear set of metrics to enable us to measure and demonstrate progress.
